You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trust in You.—Isaiah 26:3
Sometimes we complicate our life by taking on things that God has not told us to do. It adds stress, confusion, and clutter. Ask God to show you ways to simplify your life, so get rid of what He shows you to give up.

He who heeds instruction and correction is in the way of life [but also] is a way of life for others.—Proverbs 10:17
Self-discipline is a mark of maturity. Appreciate people’s correction. Everyone has weaknesses: give thanks to God if you discover one of yours today…and trust Him to be strong in that area on your behalf.

Purge the old leaven that you may be fresh dough, still uncontaminated, for Christ.—1 Corinthians 5:7
If you have habits or hindrances in your life that are fouling you up, get rid of them. Do it now! If you are serious about growing in the Lord and reaching a maturity of faith, read Matthew 5:29-30, then draw from the grace of God to make the changes you need to make.

THURSDAY, August 30, 2007
Receive instruction in wise dealing and the discipline of wise thought-fullness, righteousness, justice, and integrity.—Proverbs 1:3
When we get moody, we do and say weird things, or neglect our responsibilities. [ex: “I’m in a bad mood. Just leave me alone.”] You will enjoy your day more when you discipline yourself to do what you believe instead of what you feel. Ask God to help you control your moods.

FRIDAY, August 31, 2007
A gentle tongue [with its healing power] is a tree of life.—Proverbs 15:4
No one is completely mature in the Lord, so there is always room for improvement. If your mouth is out of control, other areas of your life will also be out of control. Ask God to direct the words you speak. Allow Him to fill your mouth with words of life that lift up those around you.

SATURDAY, September 1, 2007
I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies.—Psalm 119:25
People make choices all day long. A truly disciplined person has the ability to subordinate the lesser choice to the greater, more excellent choice. Think before you choose the way you will go today. Read Philippians 1:10
SUNDAY, September 2, 2007
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own under-standing. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.—Proverbs 3:5-6
Following God is not a part-time lifestyle. 1 Peter 5:8 teaches that we are to cautious at all times because the devil looks for opportunities to devour us. But God gives us grace to withstand the devil. Be rooted, strong, immovable, and determined knowing God will make you what you ought to be. [see 1 Peter 5:9-10]
